The History of Fives Services
Founded in 1991 under the name C.D.G. Levage Inc., the company initially built its reputation in overhead crane services by focusing on quality, reliability, and close relationships with its customers. This approach quickly proved successful, driving strong growth from the very early years.
To better serve a growing customer base, regional service centers were opened in Mauricie and later in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, strengthening the company’s presence across the territory. The acquisition of major competitors in the mid-1990s marked a key milestone, positioning C.D.G. Levage as a leading player in its sector.
In 2000, the company entered a new chapter by joining an international industrial group. It became ECL-C.D.G. Services Inc., and later ECL Services Inc. This transition expanded the company’s expertise, technical capabilities, and market reach, particularly within the aluminum industry in Canada and the United States.
In 2015, ECL joined the Fives Group, a global leader in industrial engineering. The company then adopted the name Fives Services Inc., reflecting its heritage, its evolution, and its integration within a recognized international group.
Today, Fives Services builds on more than 30 years of experience, a strong field presence, and proven expertise to support industrial companies in improving the safety, performance, and durability of their lifting equipment.
